The best SportsGameOdds alternative depends on why you are leaving. For more bookmakers on a budget, compare another aggregator. For prices that update every second in play, with push delivery, suspensions and settlement for a licensed book, you need an odds engine. RealTimeBets Platform is that engine, with published plans from $499 a month and a sandbox key at signup.

This guide is for developers at odds comparison and affiliate sites, and product leads at licensed sportsbooks. When buying sports data, I start with what the product must do, then work through the bill and failure cases. The live odds API page covers the RealTimeBets feed if you're already evaluating an engine.

SportsGameOdds pricing in 2026

SportsGameOdds publishes self-serve tiers and a custom plan. Its public pricing page lists these monthly terms, with an annual billing toggle advertising up to 40% savings.

  • Amateur. Free, with 2,500 objects a month, 10 requests a minute, 10 minute updates, 8 leagues and 9 bookmakers.
  • Rookie. $99 a month for 100,000 objects, 50 requests a minute, 3 minute updates, 17 leagues and 77 bookmakers.
  • Pro. $299 a month with unlimited objects, 300 requests a minute, sub-minute updates, 53 leagues, 82 bookmakers and historical data.
  • All-Star. Custom pricing, unlimited objects and maximum update frequency. WebSocket streaming is listed only on this tier.

Billing counts objects, not just HTTP calls. Each event returned counts as an object, so a response containing 10 events uses 10 objects. Filtering the response matters when you're estimating consumption.

All plans have hourly ceilings of 50,000 requests and 250,000 objects, plus daily ceilings of 500,000 requests and 3,000,000 objects. Unlimited monthly objects doesn't remove those shorter limits. Check them against your busiest slate and any backfill jobs.

An older SportsGameOdds blog post listed Rookie at $149 and Pro at $499 monthly. Prices have moved, so check the live pricing page before budgeting. Don't use an old article or search snippet as the purchase order.

What SportsGameOdds does well

The appeal is practical. You can sign up yourself, start free and move to a relatively cheap paid tier without a sales process. The broad bookmaker list helps comparison sites show where a price comes from, while props support products beyond the main match markets.

Historical data on Pro also gives model builders something useful to work with. If your product displays bookmaker offers or studies how those offers change, an aggregator is a sensible purchase. There's no reason to buy an engine just to populate a comparison table.

Where teams outgrow it

Update intervals become visible in play. Amateur updates every 10 minutes and Rookie every 3 minutes; Pro lists sub-minute updates. Polling faster can't make the underlying data fresher. Streaming is listed only on custom All-Star, so ask for its terms before designing around it.

Object math is the other common surprise. Take a live board showing 15 NFL games, refreshed every 20 seconds over a 3.5 hour window. That's 15 objects per request x 3 requests per minute x 210 minutes = 9,450 objects per slate window. This is consumption arithmetic, not a claim that every plan supports that refresh rate or data freshness.

Repeat those windows across a weekend and add other sports, and the monthly allowance goes quickly. Count events returned by your server, including retries and background jobs. Browser caching can reduce repeated calls, but it doesn't change how upstream objects are counted.

Aggregated lines also don't supply your own fair probability, margin control, suspension logic or settlement workflow. They tell you what another bookmaker offers. A licensed operator still needs the machinery that decides when its own market can accept a bet and how that bet resolves.

SportsGameOdds alternatives compared

Compare the delivery model with the source of the price. An aggregator can be excellent at observing bookmakers without being an engine for running your own book. Quoted and reported prices below need confirmation with sales.

Is SportsGameOdds good for a licensed sportsbook

SportsGameOdds can be useful for watching the market at a licensed sportsbook. Running the book requires more: your own prices, suspension decisions, risk checks and settlement. An aggregated bookmaker price alone doesn't provide those controls, so evaluate it as a market reference alongside your trading system.

Ask who owns each decision when play changes. Your acceptance path must respect suspended markets and risk checks, and settlement needs an auditable result. The sportsbook API covers these functions. For micro betting, automatic suspension is especially relevant because a short market can become unbettable while an older price still looks valid.

What RealTimeBets costs and what you get

Starter costs $499/mo, or $249/mo billed yearly. It includes live odds over REST and streaming push for 3 sports, an event data feed, 500,000 requests, 2 streaming connections, embeddable widgets and signed settlement webhooks.

Growth costs $1,999/mo, or $999/mo billed yearly. It covers every sport and CS2, with a micro-market generator and automatic suspension, a risk engine, model pricing with your margin, 5,000,000 requests and 10 streaming connections.

Enterprise costs $4,999/mo, or $2,499/mo billed yearly. It adds a white label front on your domain, wallet integration, cash out, SSO, an audit log and a 99.95% uptime SLA. The platform pricing page has the plan comparison.

A sandbox key is available at signup. It covers one sport, real matches 60 seconds behind live and 1,000 requests over 7 days, with the streaming endpoint included. Test reconnection, market state handling and settlement consumption before committing to production. Production keys for real-money products require a license number, regulator and country stored in the console.

How to switch from SportsGameOdds without downtime

  1. Run both feeds in parallel on one sport. Keep the existing feed serving users while you compare coverage, timestamps and market states. Exercise reconnect behavior and decide how the interface behaves when data stops arriving.
  2. Map event ids on your side. Store the relationship between providers using sport, participants and start time as matching inputs. Review ambiguous matches and rescheduled events before allowing them into a live board.
  3. Move live markets first. Switch after validating the consumer and keep a rollback path. Respect suspensions rather than leaving an old price actionable. For affiliate sites, check that sign-up and payout pages convert, and run a conversion rate audit on the landing pages that the faster odds feed now sends traffic to.
  4. Keep the aggregator for market watching if needed. Comparison pages may still need bookmaker offers even when your live product uses model prices. Label the sources clearly and keep their event mappings consistent.

Frequently asked questions

How much does SportsGameOdds cost?

SportsGameOdds lists Amateur free, Rookie at $99 a month, Pro at $299 a month and All-Star at custom pricing. Annual billing advertises up to 40% savings. Usage is counted per returned event object, and hourly and daily ceilings apply even when the monthly object allowance is unlimited.

Is SportsGameOdds free?

Yes. Its Amateur tier includes 2,500 objects a month, 10 requests a minute, 10 minute updates, 8 leagues and 9 bookmakers. It's useful for testing the response structure or a small prototype. Check the refresh interval and object allowance against your intended traffic before using it for a live display.

Does SportsGameOdds have a WebSocket API?

WebSocket streaming is listed on the custom All-Star tier. The public pricing page doesn't list it for Amateur, Rookie or Pro. Ask sales about streaming scope, delivery behavior and contract terms before building around it. Pro's sub-minute update description doesn't by itself mean that plan includes a pushed connection.

What is the best alternative to SportsGameOdds?

For broader bookmaker comparison on a budget, evaluate another aggregator against the leagues and markets you need. For a licensed live product needing prices every second, push, suspensions and settlement, evaluate an odds engine. RealTimeBets publishes plans from $499 a month and offers a sandbox key at signup.

Is SportsGameOdds better than The Odds API?

Neither is universally better. SportsGameOdds offers props, historical data on Pro and WebSocket streaming on custom All-Star. The Odds API publishes paid plans from $30 to $249 monthly and a 40 second in-play refresh for featured markets. Compare actual bookmaker coverage, billing units and refresh needs for your product.

Do I need a gambling license to use a live odds API?

The requirement depends on your use and jurisdiction. Displaying odds for comparison differs from accepting real-money bets, so check the rules governing your product. RealTimeBets requires a license number, regulator and country stored in the console for production keys serving real-money products. Its sandbox is available at signup.
