How much does OpticOdds cost
OpticOdds sells on a quote. The pricing page has no tiers and no numbers, only a short form that asks for company size (1 to 20, 21 to 50, 51 to 300 or 300+ people), the services you want and your region, then routes you to a demo. The price you get depends on the products, the sports and the volume you put on that form.
Outside figures give a rough range. Comparison pages published by rival odds vendors, citing community reports, put OpticOdds at around $5,000 a month per sport, with custom enterprise agreements above that. A team that wants NFL, NBA, MLB and soccer would, on that basis, be looking at a five-figure monthly bill before any add-on product.
Treat that number with care. It comes from competitors, not from OpticOdds, and it may be out of date or wrong for your use case. What is not in dispute is the structure: no public price list, no self-serve checkout, and a contract shaped by a sales conversation.
Does OpticOdds have a free trial
There is no free tier and no self-serve trial key. OpticOdds documentation does mention a free trial, but on the website every "try it" path ends at the request form, so a trial is something sales offers after the demo, usually to a business that can show an established product.
That is a reasonable filter for a data company selling to large books. It is slow if you are a two-person affiliate team or a newly licensed operator who wants to see live data move before spending an afternoon on calls.
The RealTimeBets sandbox key is issued at signup without a call: one sport, real matches 60 seconds behind real time, 1,000 requests over 7 days, with the streaming endpoint included so you can test reconnects and market suspensions before you pick a plan.
What sits behind an OpticOdds quote
OpticOdds is an aggregator first. It collects prices from 200+ sportsbooks worldwide and resells them as one normalized feed, then sells tools on top of that data. The quote reflects which of these you take.
- Sports Betting API. Aggregated odds over REST, with streaming over SSE (endpoints such as /stream/odds/{sport}) and queue-based updates over RabbitMQ, plus results and futures streams.
- Odds Screen. A trader screen that shows the market across books.
- Copilot. An automated trading service that streams suggested prices for a book to use.
- Bet Builder and same-game parlays. SGP pricing for operators.
- Sports and props. Each sport added, plus player props and alternate lines, pushes the quote up.
If your product needs the whole market across 200 books, that catalogue is exactly what you are paying for. If it needs live prices for your own in-play board, most of it is spend you will not use.

A published-price alternative for live odds
RealTimeBets Platform is a live odds API and pricing engine. It does not resell other bookmakers. Prices come from our own statistical models, recomputed every second, and each payload carries the fair probability and the margin next to the price. Plans are on the pricing page and bought at checkout, monthly or yearly at half the monthly rate.
- Starter, $499 a month ($249 a month billed yearly). Live odds over REST and streaming push for 3 sports, the event data feed, 500,000 requests and 2 streaming connections, embeddable widgets and signed settlement webhooks.
- Growth, $1,999 a month ($999 a month billed yearly). Every sport and CS2, the micro-market generator with automatic suspension, the risk engine, model-based pricing with your margin, 5,000,000 requests and 10 streaming connections.
- Enterprise, $4,999 a month ($2,499 a month billed yearly). Everything in Growth plus a white label front on your domain, your wallet integration, cash out, SSO, audit log and a 99.95% uptime SLA.
Growth billed yearly covers every sport for less per month than the reported entry price of a single OpticOdds sport. The full payload and endpoints are on the odds API page, and the scores and incidents feed on the sports data API page.
When OpticOdds is still the right choice
OpticOdds is built for a different job, and it wins that job.
- Market-wide odds screens. If your product compares prices across many sportsbooks, you need an aggregator. We publish our own prices, not DraftKings or FanDuel lines.
- Player props across books. Deep prop and alternate-line coverage from many operators is one of its strengths.
- Same-game parlay pricing. Its Bet Builder product prices SGPs. We price single live markets and micro-markets.
- Trading desks that copy the market. Copilot suggests prices based on what the rest of the market is doing.
Some operators run both: an aggregator to watch the market and a pricing engine for their own in-play and micro betting markets, with settlement. Our payloads carry their own event ids, so you map them on your side.
Budgeting a live odds feed for your first year
Compare offers on 12 months, not on the monthly headline. Put the annual minimum, the cost per extra sport, the price of streaming and the renewal terms side by side, then set that against what live content or in-play betting should earn in year one.
On published prices the arithmetic is short. Starter billed yearly is $2,988 for the year and suits an affiliate, a media group or a content site that shows live prices next to articles. Growth billed yearly is $11,988 and covers every sport, micro-markets, risk and settlement for a licensed book. An upgrade charges the difference straight away, so you can start small and move up when volume arrives.
When you ask OpticOdds or any other vendor for a quote, ask the same four questions: is the price aggregated or modelled, is delivery pushed or polled, what does each extra sport cost, and what happens at renewal. Our guide on how to choose a live odds API covers the request math, and the Sportradar API pricing and SportsDataIO pricing pages set out the same facts for two other large data vendors.
