Live NBA Odds for Every Possession

Live odds for NBA style basketball move with every possession: made baskets, threes, runs and the clock all shift the price. Our engine reprices every second from a possession model and pauses markets briefly after each score.

Watch basketball prices react to every trip down the floor, then call the next possession or the next three for points.

Why basketball prices move so often

A professional basketball game has around two hundred possessions, and most of them end in a shot. That makes basketball the opposite of soccer: scoring is constant, and a single basket rarely changes the winner by much. What changes the price is the pattern of possessions.

  • Scoring runs. Eight or ten unanswered points move the winner price far more than any single shot.
  • Threes. A made three is worth half as much again as a two, so a hot shooting spell moves the margin faster.
  • Free throw trips. They add points without using much clock, and the engine counts them in the stats for each side.
  • The clock. Late in the fourth quarter, fewer possessions remain, so a lead of six points is worth far more than it was at halftime.

Sportsbooks often price fouls and the bonus as well; our engine does not model them separately. The price only cares about the score, the possessions left and the expected points per trip.

The possession model in plain words

Our basketball pricing counts the game in possessions, not minutes. For each side the model estimates how many possessions remain, given the pace so far, and how many points each possession is worth, given shooting and free throws.

Multiply the two and you get the expected points still to come for each side. Add the current score and you get a distribution of final margins. The winner price and the short windows all come from that one picture, so they stay consistent with each other.

Pace matters as much as efficiency. A fast game leaves more possessions, and more possessions give the side behind more chances to close a gap. Games in the engine run four 10 minute quarters on a running clock, and every price is recomputed every second so it follows the game clock.

Basketball micro-markets

Because baskets come so often, basketball micro-markets are short and quick. Every basketball game in the engine offers these:

  • Next possession scores, yes or no.
  • Three-pointer made in the next 60 seconds, yes or no.
  • Points in the next two minutes of game clock, over or under a line.
  • Winner of the game, the moneyline.

Each micro-market lives for seconds to a couple of minutes, then settles when its market resolves and gives way to the next. A side on a hot streak makes the next possession market lean its way, which is exactly when a contrarian call carries a long multiplier.

These markets come from the same generator that licensed operators switch on through our basketball micro-markets module, so the game and a sportsbook see identical windows.

Suspensions after scores and free throws

In basketball the dangerous moment is the score. A market that stays open after a made three for even a second is offering the old price on a changed game.

The engine suspends micro-markets for about three seconds after every score, applies the new score and possession, and reopens them at a recomputed price. A trip to the line counts as one possession: the next possession market settles on whether that trip produced points.

Windows that cross the end of a quarter keep running on the game clock. A points or three-pointer window settles from the incidents recorded inside it, so the result follows the timeline, not the price shown at the time.

In the game a suspended tile greys out briefly. Your call keeps the multiplier from the moment you made it, whatever happens to the price afterwards.

Call basketball games for points

In RealTimeBets Play basketball is the fastest sport to call. A new market opens every possession, so you can make dozens of calls in one quarter. Back each call with points and win at the multiplier shown when you called.

Play is a game for adults 18 and older. No money is wagered, points have no cash value and cannot be bought, transferred or exchanged, and there are no prizes.

The list on this page shows basketball games in the engine now. Today every game there is a replay of fictional teams carrying a "Replay" badge; games from the licensed data feed carry a "Live" badge. We do not show official league data or claim any league partnership; "NBA" here is simply the phrase fans search for when they want live basketball prices.

A full game calls for pacing yourself. Use session reminders if you want a nudge, and see the sports prediction app page for leagues and Premium.

Basketball prices for licensed operators

Sportsbooks that hold a valid licence can take the same basketball feed. The odds API for live basketball streams the winner and the possession, three-pointer and two minute points markets, and the event data feed adds the score, clock, incidents and lineups.

Basketball produces a scoring incident every few seconds, so push delivery matters. Starter includes two streaming connections, 500,000 requests per month and settlement webhooks. Growth raises that to ten connections and 5,000,000 requests and adds micro-markets through the API and the risk engine with liability per market.

The risk engine answers each proposed bet with accepted, reduced or rejected, caps the stake per customer and halves limits for customers flagged as sharp.

Start with a sandbox key after signup: one sport, delayed 60 seconds, 1,000 requests, seven days, every payload marked "sandbox": true.

Questions

Do you show official NBA data?

No. RealTimeBets is not a league partner and does not carry official league data. Basketball games in the engine now are replays of fictional teams shown with "Replay"; licensed feed games are shown with "Live".

Why does the price move when nobody scores?

The clock keeps running, so fewer possessions remain for the side behind. The model recomputes the winner and window prices every second.

How long does a basketball micro-market stay open?

From a few seconds to a couple of minutes of game clock. Most possession markets settle within one trip down the floor.

Does the engine offer quarter or spread markets?

No. Basketball games carry the winner, next possession, three-pointer in 60 seconds and points in two minutes. Each window settles from the incidents inside it.

Is it real money?

No. Basketball calls are backed by points, and points never turn into cash.

Can I get basketball odds for my sportsbook?

Yes, with a valid licence. Take a sandbox key after signup, then store your licence record and pick a plan for production keys.
